Early 18th century. The Ospedale della Pietà is the largest orphanage in Venice, but it is also an institution that introduces the most gifted orphans to the study of music. Its orchestra is one of the most renowned in the world. Cecilia, aged twenty, has always lived at the Pietà and is an extraordinary violinist.
