Founded in 1917, the Cécilia brass band in Chermignon currently has around sixty members. It has taken part in various cantonal and national competitions in the Brass Band Excellence category. As well as performing at village events in Chermignon, the Cécilia has also taken part in various events in Switzerland and abroad. These have included three appearances at the Whit Friday competition in England, the OLMA trade fair in St. Gallen and the Fête des Vendanges in Neuchâtel.
La Cécilia also has a drum clique that accompanies it on its parades and performs regularly at its concerts.
Training young people is also one of the main objectives of the Cécilia, which has its own music school offering courses at all levels to some fifteen young musicians.
