Stephanie Gurga is a versatile musician from the United States who lives in Sion, and performs on the piano, harpsichord, and also as a conductor, maestro al cembalo and singer. She studied piano at DePauw University in Indiana (USA) and at the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris, and specialised in early music at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg im Breisgau. As a student of Prof. Dr. Robert Hill, she was awarded an Artist’s Diploma in harpsichord performance and a Master of Music in Fortepiano Performance. At the same time, she perfected her skills in accompaniment for Lied and opera, then went on to study singing with Patrice Berger, Christian Immler and Graeme Danby. Stephanie Gurga finally trained as a conductor with Marcio da Silva, supported by Prof. Scott Sandmeier. She gives recitals and chamber music concerts in Europe and the United States.
