Pianist Patrick Muller was attracted to improvisation and composition from early on in his career, and left Geneva after secondary school for Paris, where he devoted himself entirely to music. He embarked on a long career, working on his own projects and collaborating with classical, chanson and jazz artists such as Toots Thielemans, Jane Birkin, Jeffrey Oriema, Joe Lovano, Sophie Hunger, Christophe, Charles Aznavour and Oxmo Puccino. In 1991, he won first prize in the ‘Concours international des radios publiques de langue française’ in Montreal with his trio, and joined the Erik Truffaz Quartet, going on to record six albums on the Blue Note label, and playing in all the major venues worldwide! Patrick Muller composes film music, and has taught piano and keyboards, composition and ensembles in the fields of jazz and contemporary music at different institutions, including the Haute École de Musique (HEMU Lausanne). He also runs lots of workshops around the world during his tours.
