Become the face of Valais!

The Crans-Montana Biennale and the Opale Foundation are offering you a unique opportunity: to have your portrait taken free of charge by the renowned photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

From 5 to 10 October 2026, his photography studio will be set up at the Crans-Montana fire station premises, on the shores of Lake Moubra, to create a major series of portraits featuring the people of Valais.

Who can take part? Everyone!

For this project, it is essential to come accompanied. Whether as a couple, with your family, friends, colleagues, sports team, neighbours, association, company… or even with your pet! Regardless of your age, profession, passion or personal story, you have your place in this unique project. At the end of the session, you will receive your photograph in digital format.

To participate, simply register by booking an appointment at the following address: biennalecrans@ik.me

Following these photo sessions, Yann Arthus-Bertrand will select around one hundred photographs, which will be exhibited from the beginning of 2027 at Place du Scandia and in front of Saint-Christophe Church in Crans-Montana.

Through this collective artwork, the Crans-Montana Biennale aims to celebrate what makes Valais so rich: its diversity, its solidarity, and the women and men who bring it to life every day.

This event will also give rise to an exceptional publication entitled: VALAIS – A FAMILY ALBUM. A book that will bring together a large selection of these portraits and showcase the human richness of our canton.

Join this extraordinary adventure and help create a collective artwork that will become part of Valais’ history.

We look forward to welcoming you in large numbers!
