In 2026, the Swiss Ski School (ESS) Crans-Montana marks a century of passion for snow sports. A truly special milestone for this iconic "Red Legend".
To honour this anniversary in style, a full year of festive and sporting events is planned. From 20 to 22 March 2026, enjoy three days of competitions and entertainment across the ski area! Come and celebrate a century of skiing, sharing and mountain spirit in Crans-Montana during this anniversary event!
It all began in 1926, when two pioneers set up separate ski schools on the Haut-Plateau, using hickory skis, makeshift lifts and a good dose of ingenuity. Since then, the ESS has continued to evolve: from the skiing boom of the 1950s to the arrival of snowboarding in the 1990s, and finally, in 2016, the merger of the two schools into one stronger and more professional organisation.
Today, the ESS Crans-Montana offers year-round activities and proudly carries on a tradition of excellence passed down through generations. A collector’s magazine, filled with stories, memories and highlights from the past 100 years, is also available to relive this remarkable journey.
