In April, the mountains reveal a different aspect, with high altitude snow and sunny terraces. Here are our tips for making the most of the slopes at the end of the season, you can check it out on our latest Instagram reel.
Before you plan to go skiing, check the opening times and the sectors that are currently open.
As soon as the pistes open, head to Violettes, skis in hand, to take the cable car to the Plaine Morte glacier. Up there, at over 2900 metres, the snow stays cold and conditions are often excellent, even in April.
👉 In our video: follow us from the Violettes gondola to the moment we put on our skis overlooking the glacier. A magical experience.

Some slopes still have a good covering of snow at this time of year. Our favourites are:
The Kandahar: a wide, technical red, perfect for carving fun and covering miles. Its biggest advantage: its altitude means you can ski on winter snow, even in spring.
Aminona: a wide, easy run, one of the most beautiful with views.
Bellalui: for a change of pace, with its plunging views over the valley and the Tseuzier dam.
Zabona: a little cocoon in the sun, still with snow cover at this time of year.
👉 In the reel: follow Inès on the Kandahar, then admire the drone shots of Aminona, Bellalui and Zabona.

Skiing in springtime also means taking your time. Late morning when the snow starts to soften, it's time for a change of pace. It's the perfect time for a delicious meal in the sunshine at one of the mountain restaurants.
👉 In the video: we take you with us for lunch on the terrace at Pépinet. Local cuisine, a friendly atmosphere and sunshine... you’ll find us there!

Ski early: the snow is best between 8.30 and 11.30
Use the lower slopes to walk back
In the afternoon: enjoy the resort in a different way - terraces, spa, shopping or hikes along our bisses, or road cycling! See all our recommendations for enjoying spring in Crans-Montana.
