Wildstrubel by UTMB® becomes an UTMB World Series Major

4 November 2026

A new chapter for Wildstrubel by UTMB®. After just five editions, the event reaches a major milestone as it joins the six UTMB World Series Majors in 2027. A fantastic recognition for this iconic Swiss Alpine trail running event, further raising the profile of Crans-Montana and the wider region on the international trail running stage.

International recognition for Wildstrubel by UTMB®

Since its launch, Wildstrubel by UTMB® has established itself as a highlight of the alpine trail running calendar. Its unique concept brings together five destinations, Crans-Montana, Leukerbad, Adelboden, Lenk and Kandersteg, across the Swiss cantons of Valais and Bern.

Each of the five races sets off from a different destination before converging on a shared finish line in Crans-Montana, where runners are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Valais peaks.

Its elevation to Major status recognises the exceptional quality of the event's organisation, the challenging nature of its courses and the shared commitment of its partner destinations, volunteers and local communities.

"Wildstrubel by UTMB® is an impressive success story that brings the cantons of Bern and Valais closer together. We are delighted and proud to see the event achieve Major status as early as next year. Our sincere thanks go to the UTMB World Series for their commitment and trust, which continue to raise the international profile of this shared adventure."
Bruno Huggler, Director of Crans-Montana Tourism & Congress
