Organised by the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Valais, the national ceremony in tribute to the victims will take place on Friday 9 January 2026 in Martigny. Access to this official ceremony is strictly limited to personally invited guests. The ceremony will be broadcast live on television and in Crans-Montana.

To allow the public to come together in remembrance, a live broadcast of the ceremony will be held at the Le Regent Congress Centre in Crans-Montana. Attendance is subject to prior registration and the event will begin at 13.45. Doors will open from 12.30 to ensure smooth access. All seats at the congress centre are now fully booked.
A dedicated access plan will be in place, with two entrances: from the upper side via Route des Mélèzes and from the lower side via Rue du Bisse. Given the high number of attendees expected, visitors are strongly advised to arrive well in advance and to take into account winter weather conditions, snow and security checks at the entrance.
A designated area for flowers will be provided. For safety reasons, candles are not permitted.
As the congress centre is fully booked, two large screens will be installed at Place du Scandia in Crans-Montana to allow as many people as possible to follow the ceremony. This area is freely accessible, with no reservation required. Due to the forecast winter temperatures, attendees are advised to wear warm clothing and suitable footwear.
The ceremony will be broadcast live by many television channels, including all three Swiss national channels (RTS, SRF, RSI).
The use of public transport is strongly recommended, in particular the funicular between Sierre and Crans-Montana, which takes 13 minutes. Bus line 431, connecting the funicular station to Crans, will operate with increased frequency for the occasion and serves the Scandia stop, the closest stop to the Le Regent Congress Centre.
Parking is available in Crans and Montana. Shuttle buses will operate to the stop "Crans-Montana, Scandia". From there, Le Regent Congress Centre can be reached on foot in approximately 8 minutes. Please follow road signage and instructions from the police.
