The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has awarded the organisation of the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, planned for September 2025, to Valais. Eight destinations in Valais will host the different events: Crans-Montana for Cross Country, the Dents du Midi region for Downhill, Grächen for E-Bike, Leukerbad for Enduro, Verbier and the Val d’Anniviers for the Marathon, Monthey for Pumptrack and Zermatt for Short Track.
Sion will host the opening ceremony. Grouping the seven disciplines in the same region is a first in the history of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. For Swiss Cycling and Switzerland as a mountain biking nation, the championships are a unique occasion to present the diversity of the sport, showcasing its best athletes.
