Getting around Crans-Montana: essential travel tips

5 February 2026

As the holidays approach, here are some tips to make your arrival and travel around our beautiful region, as well as your access to the ski lifts, as smooth as possible.

Skiing

We recommend that you prioritise public transport and the free shuttle buses. Crans-Montana offers three main entry points to the ski area:

Gondolas Bus stops Parking*
Crans-Cry d'Er télé Cry d'Er Chetseron or Cry d'Er
Montana-Arnouva Ycoor (+ escalator) or télé Arnouva Grand Signal
Violettes Express télé Violettes Violettes or Aminona + bus

*We recommend that you access the pistes via the Crans-Cry d’Er lift or the Violettes Express lift (Barzettes car park). Find the location and check the availability of the car parks directly on the Crans-Montana app (App Store or Google Play).

Getting to and around Crans-Montana

For your comfort, we suggest that you prioritise public transport. Crans-Montana has an efficient service from Sierre and Sion train stations.

  • From Sierre
From the SBB railway station, take the regional bus lines SMC 421 and 422 (approx. 40 minutes) or walk 5 minutes to the funicular station, which takes you to Crans-Montana in just 13 minutes.
  • From Sion
You can also easily reach Crans-Montana from Sion station with PostBus via line 353 (approx. 45 minutes).
  • In Crans-Montana
You can travel comfortably and free of charge thanks to our vast network of shuttle buses that run every 20 minutes from 07.06 to 19.34 on the main routes. You will also find the timetables on the Crans-Montana app (App Store or Google Play), at www.sbb.ch or on the SBB Mobile app.

Easy travel without luggage
Travel even more easily by public transport, and without the hassle, by letting the CFF transport your luggage from your home to your hotel. Here is a list of hotels participating in the programme. More information: sbb.ch/luggage-services
