Crans-Montana is preparing for a year packed with major events which will be taking place over the coming months. For several years now, Crans-Montana has been positioning itself as a bike destination par excellence, thanks to its limitless playground and variety of possibilities for all cyclists. With the UCI 2025 World Championships in mind, it hosts national and international events every year. The Enduro World Series - the World Cup in the discipline - has been held in the destination for the past two years, and had a great impact on the Haut Plateau.

On Ascension weekend, Valais will be hosting two stages of the Giro d'Italia, the legendary transalpine Grand Tour.
With a passage over the Col de la Croix de Coeur and a finish in Crans-Montana on Friday 19th, and a departure from Sierre followed by a climb over the Simplon Pass on Saturday 20th, Ascension weekend will be the scene decisive moments in this professional cycling Grand Tour. The Swiss elite will be competing for the title of Swiss Mountain Bike Cross-Country champion and Short Track champion champion over three days. They promise to be exciting high-level races, not just because Switzerland excels in these disciplines at a world level, but also because some sections will be used for the 2025 World Cross-Country Championships. Access is easy as the event is taking place in the centre of Crans-Montana, and it will also be easy to enjoy the race on giant screens or go to encourage the athletes along the course.
The Short Track competitions will be held on Friday, and the event will end on Sunday with the elite cross-country races. On Saturday however there will be several fun races which are open to amateurs and children, and several Swiss athletes will be present for an autograph session.

This experience for amateur cyclists, solo or in a team, provides an opportunity to conquer the Valais peaks. The Haute Route is a race, a personal challenge, an adventure and a succession of some of the most enjoyable days possible on a bike.
Over three days, the route covers a total distance of 200km with a height gain of 7,500m+ and offers first-class hospitality, premium services and, above all, an absolutely unique atmosphere among participants who are passionate about road cycling.

The world professional cycling elite will have a day entirely in Valais on Wednesday 14 June 2023. The fourth stage of the Swiss tour will start in Monthey and finish in Leukerbad.
After a loop in the Chablais region, the peloton will follow the Rhone river before the first big climb of the day. They should pass through Crans-Montana at around 15.00, they will also be racing for a mountain Grand Prix prize. To be sure you don’t miss it, plan to be there by 14.30 at the latest.

The Tour des Stations aims to conquer the most difficult passes in the heart of Valais, where amateur road cyclists push their limits. This competition is an endurance race offering an exceptional sporting challenge linking the region's resorts in a characteristically grandiose environment. Several different distances are proposed, including the most difficult one, the Ultrafondo, which will be stopping off in Crans-Montana on 5 August. This legendary route offers an altitude gain as high as Everest (8,848 metres of positive height gain) in a day, a real sporting feat for any cyclist embarking on this adventure.
