Crans-Montana offers a multitude of natural landscapes that make the destination a paradise for hiking enthusiasts. Among these are eight irrigation channels, or ‘bisses’, including the Grand Bisse de Lens, which is quite a walk for adventurous hikers with some dizzy heights.
Enjoy a day out in nature in Crans-Montana to recharge your batteries! The Grand Bisse de Lens walk links the villages of Icogne and Lens, and promises breathtaking views over the Rhone Valley. This is what we're proposing today, in collaboration with PostBus.

Just after arriving at the "Icogne-Village" stop in your coach, you'll start your route at the Chemin du Moulin, continuing on to the Route du Grand Bisse de Lens, which takes you straight to the bisse. Continue your walk along the water to reach the footbridges which lead you around the Châtelard hill, topped by the statue of Christ the King. Take this opportunity to stop and admire one of the most beautiful views in Valais, overlooking the Rhone Valley.
Like many Valais bisses, this one is renowned for its dizzying rock faces. If you’re not sure about continuing at this point, don't hesitate to retrace your steps. If you dare to continue, you'll come face to face with a giant letter "N" and a bench for more superb panoramic views.

Take a short break, you’re more than halfway. The walk continues skirting the village of Flanthey, and then climbs back up towards Lens. Go through the village and you'll reach Lake Louché, the final stop on your tour.
Top tip
To finish on a high note, explore the new exhibition at the Fondation Opale (located next to the lake) and if you’re a food lover, treat yourself to a meal at the art centre's restaurant, Restaurant l'Opale, before returning to the « Lens, Centre d'art » bus stop.
