Crans-Montana is a fascinating playground for hiking enthusiasts. This summer, we turn the spotlight on one of the impressive jewels of our region: the hike around the Wildstrubel massif. Straddling the cantons of Bern and Valais, this magnificent excursion offers breathtaking panoramas and immaculate landscapes, which all guarantee an unforgettable experience.

A variety of montain landscapes in 2 different cantons

This route links some of the best-known holiday resorts in the cantons of Bern and Valais, offering spectacular views of unique mountain scenery all the time. The route starts in Crans-Montana, and takes you to the Bernese Oberland via Leukerbad and the Gemmi Pass. From Kandersteg, it continues on to Adelboden, then returns to Valais via Lenk, the Rawyl pass and the Wildstrubel hut, ending at the vertiginous Ro bisse.

Ideal for a hiking break

This route is ideal for hiking enthusiasts that are looking for a holiday in an unusual setting. With a positive and negative altitude difference of 6,400 metres over no less than 112 kilometres, this circuit around the Wildstrubel can be covered at your own pace over 7 days with the help of Eurotrek, who can plan the route, book the huts/hotels, and transport your belongings every day along the route, which is invaluable and quite a significant help!

Route of a world-famous race

You may have already heard the name Wildstrubel, but it became even more well-known in 2022, when the first ultra-trail race in its name took place. In fact, every year in September, this route sees lots of long-distance runners take part in the famous Wildstrubel by UTMB® trail race. In the race, athletes take on an Alpine challenge to complete the entire 113km of the Wildstrubel massif tour in under 13 hours, starting from Crans-Montana. If you're looking for a sporting challenge, you can enrol and take part in the next edition of the Wildstrubel by UTMB®! There are several different distances on offer: 113 km, 70 km, 53 km, 25 km or 10 km, starting from Crans-Montana, Kandersteg, Adelboden Leukerbad or Aminona, with the finish line in Crans-Montana.
