The first two players have been confirmed for the 79th edition of the OMEGA European Masters, with the tournament’s two most recent champions set to return to Crans-Montana next September.
South Africa’s Thriston Lawrence, winner of the 2025 edition, and England’s Matt Wallace, who claimed the title in 2024 before finishing runner-up a year later, will tee it up at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club from 3–6 September 2026.
Lawrence returns to the Swiss Alps as the defending champion and one of the tournament’s most successful recent players. Already victorious in Crans-Montana in 2022, the South African secured his second OMEGA European Masters title in 2025, further cementing his reputation on the iconic Severiano Ballesteros course.
A third victory in 2026 would see Lawrence join an exclusive group of players to have won the tournament three times, adding another remarkable chapter to both his own story and the rich history of one of the DP World Tour’s most prestigious events.
Wallace, meanwhile, has also built an impressive record in Crans-Montana. The Englishman lifted the trophy in 2024 following a dramatic play-off victory before once again challenging for the title in 2025, eventually finishing tied for second, just two shots behind Lawrence.
The former Ryder Cup player has continued to perform at the highest level throughout 2026, highlighted by a tied runner-up finish at the Valero Texas Open on the PGA TOUR, underlining the form he will bring back to Switzerland.
With two recent champions already confirmed, anticipation is beginning to build for another memorable edition of the OMEGA European Masters. Both Lawrence and Wallace have demonstrated a special connection with Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club, and their return promises another exciting chapter in the tournament’s long-standing tradition of world-class golf in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
After the announcements of Matt Wallace and Thriston Lawrence, winners of the last two editions, a familiar face from the Crans-Montana fairways joins the 2026 field: Miguel Ángel Jiménez will tee off in the tournament from September 3 to 6.
Miguel Ángel Jiménez embodies the very soul of the tournament. The Spanish veteran will be competing in the OMEGA European Masters for the 36th time, a record of longevity that commands admiration. A winner at Crans-Montana in 2010 and an ambassador for both the tournament and the OMEGA brand, he remains one of the most endearing and respected figures in world golf.
His first European Tour victory dates back to September 29, 1992, at the Belgian Open. Since then, the Spaniard has built an impressive record: 20 wins in total, including his triumph at the OMEGA European Masters in 2010, right through to his most recent title in 2014 at the Spanish Open, more than 20 years after his rise to prominence. Having played over 720 tournaments on the European circuit, he continues to write his legend with undiminished passion.
Since 2025, the Spaniard has been competing on the Senior Tour, stringing together strong results: a 4th-place finish at the Staysure Marbella Legends this past February, followed by two top-10s across the Atlantic — 8th at the U.S. Senior PGA Championship and another 8th at the U.S. Senior Open.
At nearly 63 years old, Miguel Ángel Jiménez has lost none of his class or his passion for competition. Between the fairways of Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club and the Valais terraces he holds so dear, the Spaniard is preparing to write a new chapter in his long history with the OMEGA European Masters.
Winner in 2021 and runner-up last year, Rasmus Højgaard returns to the fairways of the Crans-Montana Golf Club with a clear goal: to add another victory to his record at the 2026 edition of the OMEGA European Masters.
At 25, Højgaard belongs to a generation of European golfers who already boast an impressive record. Since his triumph in 2021, he has continued to confirm his special affection for Crans-Montana, showing up year after year among the most serious contenders.
His story with the tournament has something almost novelistic about it. Højgaard first discovered these fairways in 2021 and left straight away with the trophy in hand, at just 20 years of age. A victory that was then only the third of his young career on the DP World Tour, but one that was already enough to reveal the full extent of his talent.
Since then, the Dane's record has only grown: he now counts five victories on the DP World Tour. The very first, achieved in only his fifth start on the circuit at the Mauritius Open, made him the fastest Danish player in history to win on the DP World Tour.
Some names have a way of coming back around. Danny Willett is one of them. Eleven years after lifting the trophy on the Severiano Ballesteros course, the Englishman will make his way back to Crans-Montana for the 2026 edition of the OMEGA European Masters, from 3 to 6 September, a 15th appearance that speaks volumes about his connection to the tournament.
His first visit to Crans-Montana dates back more than fifteen years. Since then, Willett has built a history there marked by consistency and strong results: four top 10s, including three top 5s and two top 3s, crowned by that 2015 victory which remains the high point of his time at the event. It was no isolated success either: on the international circuit, the Englishman has racked up eight DP World Tour titles, and above all an absolute career peak in 2016, at the Masters in Augusta, USA.
Eleven years on from his Crans-Montana triumph, Willett is far from a name of the past. This season alone, he has shown he can still hold his own against the world's best, with a seventh-place finish at the International Amsterdam and a 21st-place result at the Scottish Open.
Some comebacks are hard to ignore. Patrick Reed's is one of them. Eleven years after his sole appearance at the OMEGA European Masters in 2015, the American will once again take to the fairways of Crans-sur-Sierre, from 3 to 6 September and he arrives in a form that speaks for itself: he currently sits atop the Race to Dubai standings.
Turning professional at just 20 years old in 2011, Reed quickly established himself as one of the biggest names in American golf. A nine-time PGA Tour winner, his record includes the prestigious Masters Tournament, won in 2018, as well as two World Golf Championships. His reputation as a fierce competitor, forged in particular through his standout Ryder Cup performances for Team USA, earned him a nickname that has stuck ever since: "Captain America."
It was in that same competitive spirit that he made his only appearance at the OMEGA European Masters back in 2015, finishing in a strong 16th place. He hasn't returned to Crans-Montana since — until now, arriving with a richer record and experience gained across the world's biggest tours.
That experience has made him one of golf's most seasoned competitors today. Back on the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour following a spell on the LIV Golf circuit, Reed wasted no time finding his form: winner of the Dubai Desert Classic and then the Qatar Masters, he has put together a blistering start to the season that now has him leading the Race to Dubai.
On one side, a Spanish legend whose name is etched into the tournament's history. On the other, a rising star of French golf on a fast upward trajectory. The field for the 2026 OMEGA European Masters welcomes two very different profiles, united by nothing less than a shared passion for competition: Sergio García and Martin Couvra will both tee it up from 3 to 6 September.
Sergio García brings an entirely different dimension to the 2026 edition: that of history. The Spaniard won the OMEGA European Masters back in 2005, a victory that remains one of the tournament's defining moments. Nicknamed "El Niño," García is now regarded as one of the most decorated and respected players of his generation, with 11 PGA Tour titles to his name, including his 2017 Masters Tournament win and his 2008 Players Championship title.
Selected for the Ryder Cup as early as 1999, he remains the competition's youngest-ever player, and to this day, Europe's all-time leading points scorer. A career that has made him one of the most influential figures in world golf over the past 25 years and whose return to Crans-Montana is sure to delight the crowds.
Alongside him, Martin Couvra represents the new generation of European golf. Last year, the Frenchman discovered the demanding Crans-sur-Sierre course for the very first time, at just 22 years old. That debut coincided with a genuinely breakthrough 2025 season: a win at the Turkish Open, a runner-up finish at the Italian Open, and a top-5 result at the Hainan Classic. A remarkable rise that followed his first professional win back in 2023 at the Challenge de España.
Since that first appearance in Crans-Montana, the Frenchman has lost none of his consistency: a 7th-place finish at the Alfred Dunhill Championship last December, a 9th-place finish at the Hainan Classic in March, and a 10th-place finish at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship in May. Returning to Valais this year, the Toulon-born golfer will be hoping to take the next step and reach the final stretch of the weekend.
