Perched on a sunny plateau in the Swiss Alps, this destination combines nature, sport, culture and relaxation with disconcerting ease.

Staying in Crans-Montana also means you can make the most of a wide choice of accommodation: hotels, apartments, chalets and bed & breakfasts. And as an added bonus, visitors receive the My Explorer Card, a guest card that gives you access to lots of activities for free or at special prices, for example the ski lifts, swimming pool and minigolf, to name but a few.

Whether you're looking for a thrilling adrenaline rush or a moment to catch your breath, here's what an ideal week in Crans-Montana might look like.

Day 1 - Holiday time!

As soon as you've dropped off your bags, you'll feel that you want to get moving! Head to Arnouva to hurtle down the slopes on a mountain go-karting ride through the forest!

IIt's time to relax in the afternoon: swimming pool or spa, the choice is yours. Several different places welcome you for a moment of relaxation (check the list and available offers). The tone is set: this week is going to be as fabulous as it is varied.

Day 2 - Nature on foot, a zen end to the day

There's nothing like a nice hike to warm up and start the day off right: set off along the bisse du Ro to the Tseuzier dam (there’s a bus service to the dam, so it's possible to do the hike in one direction only), or opt for more leisurely exploring around Crans-Montana lakes.

At the end of the day, relax with an outdoor yoga session with views over the mountains as you watch the sun set.

Day 3 - Culture & Alpine traditions

We start the day by immersing ourselves in Alpine life. Head to our mountain pastures to see how cheese is made: immerse yourself in the terroir and enjoy a tasting session, or take a walk with dwarf goats for an adventure in the forest.

And what’s next? Make way for art and traditions from afar. Visit the Fondation Opale, a unique venue dedicated to contemporary Aboriginal art. A visual, spiritual and inspiring immersion, from Australia to the Alps.

Day 4 - Green or blue, why choose?

Enjoy a morning on the green at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club, one of the most beautiful alpine courses in the world. Whether you're an experienced golfer or a beginner, there's always an option: 18 legendary holes, 9 accessible holes, a beginners’ course or simply hit a few balls on the Driving range.

Afterwards, enjoy a gourmet break on a terrace, as we love to eat well here: Crans-Montana is a destination for gastronomy, with several establishments rated by Gault & Millau, including two with Michelin-stars. Eating well is part of the lifestyle here.

In the afternoon, it's time for some aquatic fun! Head to the Beach Club to sip a cocktail with your toes in the sand, and for the more adventurous, why not try wakeboarding at the Wake Park? Families shouldn't miss the WaterGames, which are included with the My Explorer Card. A tropical atmosphere is guaranteed at an altitude of 1,500 metres, so you can enjoy your day right up to the very last rays of sunshine.

Day 5 - Cycling and local life

Cyclists are in for a treat: there’s the Bikepark, mountain biking, e-bike, gravel or road cycling. There are plenty of routes for all levels of cyclist to enjoy the region's exceptional views. And if you need any equipment, you can hire it from one of the many specialist shops.

For the rest of the day, why not take a stroll through the streets for an afternoon of shopping, or make the most of the Crans-Montana market (every Wednesday) to take home finds from here and elsewhere.

Day 6 - A day of sport at the Moubra

Today, it's time for action at the Crans Montana Sports Centre: tennis, padel, badminton, pickleball or rock climbing (at a reduced rate the My Explorer Card... the choice is yours! Near the sports centre, there's also a pumptrack, a beach volleyball court, an outdoor fitness area and even a paintball ground. Sport is fun in Crans-Montana!

In the afternoon, enjoy an adventure in the trees on a variety of accrobranch courses in the treetops for all ages and levels, before cooling off with a dip in Lake Moubra, or a paddle or pedalo session (also included with the guest card). An active day out, but one that’s fun and accessible for everyone.

Day 7 - Slow down before you leave

On the last day, savour every moment, perhaps shopping for some local delicacies or stylish souvenirs as you stroll around and take in the views, not forgetting a photo session in front of the giant letters at Lake Grenon: enjoy the last day at your own pace.

A final glass of wine Wine & Music (every Friday evening in summer) and a live open-air concert. It's the perfect way to round off your summer week. The holidays are over, but they'll leave you wanting to return again this summer, and why not in winter, to see all these places in a different way, and in a completely different atmosphere.
