At the Salon Suisse des Goûts et Terroirs in Bulle, the prestigious Swiss Bakery Trophy announced its verdict for 2024, naming Taillens Bakery in Crans-Montana as the best bakery in Valais. This prestigious prize, which the company has won before back in 2018, represents the ultimate recognition in the world of artisan bakers, pastry chefs and confectioners in Switzerland, rewarding both innovation and the mastery of ancestral craftsmanship.
In the face of increasing competition, the Swiss Bakery Trophy offers Swiss artisans a unique opportunity to stand out from the crowd by highlighting the authenticity and originality of their creations.
The Swiss Bakery Trophy jury was particularly impressed by the Taillens team’s «Pan de Toni», for the finesse of its production and the remarkable technique it requires. Reflecting the exacting standards and authenticity of Taillens, this product embodies a family tradition of craftsmanship that has been passed down with passion for four generations. Among the creations which were presented, the Pain des Glaciers, the Squash and the «Abrickerli» - an apricot and rye Läckerli with a Valais touch - also illustrated demanding skills, the fruit of meticulous work by their bakers and pastry chefs.
Taillens, which is open all year round, invites you to savour its specialities in their tea rooms, where the emphasis is on local products and short distribution channels, an art in which it excels. With over 100 employees working in six bakeries and a restaurant, Boulangerie Taillens is a pillar of the Valais artisan industry and is strengthening its national reputation.
