Bisses

Discover the region while following one of its eight bisses, or irrigation streams, these truly historical emblems in the Valais landscape which date back to the 14th century. Back then, the construction of these irrigation streams allowed water to be transported from a spring located far away to cultivated land. Today, the bisses provide wonderful walks on gentle slopes which enable you to discover nature in all her glory, whilst also enjoying outstanding views.

In the Crans-Montana region, some of the best known are the Bisse du Ro, which takes you from Lake Tseuzier along towering rock faces, crossing a 120m high footbridge, or the Bisse du Tsittoret, which leads to the wild Tièche Valley, and offers the most beautiful panoramic views in the region. However there are many others that also deserve to be explored.
