Allow yourself to be surprised by the beauty of the Plaine Morte glacier, and treat yourself to one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Alps. Up there, facing a garland of majestic Alpine peaks stretching from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc, a 360° view awaits you.
The flat plateau is up to 200 metres thick in certain places, and the waters flow mostly into the Lenk in the Bernese Oberland, as well as into the Rhone Valley on the Valais side.
At the top of the Plaine Morte Funitel, enjoy a well-deserved break in the restaurant, or choose between a cross-country skiing and snowshoe route and the start of the legendary Kandahar piste, for a long and breathtaking 8km ski descent. It was on this piste that the first downhill skiing in the history of Crans-Montana took place, when "The Earl Roberts of Kandahar Challenge" race linked the Plaine Morte to the resort, way back in 1911.
