A sustainable improvement in public transport

The funicular railway line linking the rail network in the valley with the Crans-Montana plateau has been completely rebuilt, and reopened on schedule on 11 December 2022. So what are the benefits of this brand new funicular? Increased frequency with three connections an hour, extended operating hours offering 45 journeys a day, more comfort for passengers and above all, zero carbon emission journeys, as it is 100% electric.

Another notable improvement is the free shuttle service on the Haut-Plateau, which has been operating year-round since early 2023. All four corners of the destination, stretching from Aminona to the Route du Golf and from Vermala to La Moubra, can now be reached on public transport free of charge all year round, rather than just during peak tourist periods.

This is a clear sign of the destination's commitment to sustainability, and also reflects the desire to make Crans-Montana attractive all year round.
