Thanks to its topography, from the Rhone Valley at an altitude of 500 m up to the Plaine Morte Glacier at 3,000 m, Crans-Montana is an ideal playground for trail running.
On the high plateau, a vitaparcours fitness trail and three timed routes have been created in the Moubra forest.
And to make the most of this sporting discipline, 14 routes have been specifically planned and signposted for mountain trail running. In total, no less than 242 km of routes have been mapped out, with a total of 17'500 m of elevation gain. With routes ranging from 2 km to 55 km, and elevation gain from 300 m to 4,200 m, there are routes for all levels and tastes, with four notable legendary uphills.
Since 2022, Crans-Montana has hosted an annual UTMB® World Series event, the Wildstrubel by UTMB®, which offers a number of routes, the most difficult of which is 113 km with 6,600 m of height gain, through the Alps.
